Challenge 2

April 03 - May 07  /   2017

On Monday morning April 3, we will start the second challenge.
Five weeks time to carry out your plans to make a difference.
We invite you to closely look at the contributions of your classmates in your Circle and
discuss the similarities and differences among the different groups.

 'Actions speak louder than words'

Carry out your plans:

Introduction:

In challenge 1 you explored how your talents can make a difference in your community.
You made a choice from 4 assignments or figured out your own way to be meaningful to someone else.

You wondered and planned what you can do in your school, your neighborhood, your town or city and perhaps even a little further than that.

You have prepared your social activities. In this challenge you will carry them out and also report your progress and learning process to the other participants.

We are all looking forward to see what you come up with!

What are we going to do?

Some schools not only planned their social activities but also carried them out. No matter what progress you made so far as a group or class, the assignments of challenge 2 can help you to complete your learning process.

Please look at these assignments carefully and think about how you can learn more.
Inspire each other about how "ME becomes We".

These are the assignments for challenge 2:

1. Your answers to the reflective questions:

In challenge 1 we added a pdf with questions, to reflect and use in a debate in your class or group.
We are curious if these reflective questions were helpful to find out how you can help others.
Your thoughts and opinions in different perspectives are interesting for the other participants.

Please share the 'outcomes' or reflections of your conversations on your school page.
You can add a text, pictures, a poster, a mind map or come up with your own creative way!

2. Report of your plans and progress:

In challenge 1 you made a choice to plan and organize social activities:

    • A: In your school

      • A good place to be together

      • Be a buddy

    • B: In your neighborhood

      • You make my day

    • C: In your local community

      • A (musical) performance for the elderly

      •  Stories from the past and the present

    •  D: In your wider community

Please share with us:

  • Which assignments you choose

  • Which social activity you organized

  • How you prepared and proceeded as a group or individual

  • How you discussed and divided tasks

  • The specific actions to be taken

  • What was required to complete each step

  • Which 'difficulties' you encountered

.....and report this in a creative way on your school pages!

3. Report of your social activities:

Use this list of suggestions to make a wonderful record or 'portfolio' about what you experienced:

  • Can you tell us how your plans worked out?
  • Share pictures, movies, essays, your stories about your social action project.
  • Consider to make smaller group presentations using all kinds of tools.

  • Think of making a news article for this wiki or your local newspaper.

  • If you invited a guest speaker who works for an organization that helps people in your area:
please share a report of your meeting.

  • Do you intend to repeat your activity?

  • Don't forget how interested your parents or other members of your school are!
Show them your great plans and what you have done!

It's really exciting to see and share what you have done to help others or make them happier... !
Please add interesting contributions about your actions on your school page!

For example, like our Circle friends in Moldova did:

Use your imagination and your best ideas...

Choose a way to share what you have experienced and learned.

Good luck!
